MCP app for ChatGPT and Claude

TAQYID Halal Readiness Check

A self-assessment that runs inside ChatGPT and Claude, as an MCP app. Answer questions about your company and see whether it is ready to apply for, or renew, Malaysian halal certification (SPHM) under MPPHM 2020 (Pindaan 2026) and MHMS 2020. No account needed.

Self-assessment by TAQYID. Not a decision of JAKIM, MAIN/JAIN or the Malaysia Halal Certification Panel.

What the check does

The check opens a questionnaire in the conversation, one question per screen, in English or Malay. It takes about 5 minutes. After your last answer, it shows:

  • whether your company meets the eligibility conditions to apply
  • the system you need: an Internal Halal Control System (IHCS) or a Halal Assurance System (HAS)
  • your readiness level and the gaps to close, each with its reference in MPPHM 2020 (Pindaan 2026) or MHMS 2020 and a suggested owner
  • for a renewal, the dates between which to file, worked out from the expiry date of your SPHM

The result is computed by the app’s own code from your answers, not by ChatGPT or Claude: the same answers, on the same version of the questionnaire, give the same result. You can start a new check without leaving the conversation. Where the check gives you a link to a web report, it opens the same result on app.taqyid.cloud, to print or share; the link stops working after 90 days.

Who it is for

Companies that manufacture or process products in Malaysia, for a first application or a renewal, under one of the five product schemes:

  • Food & Beverage Products
  • Cosmetic Products
  • Pharmaceutical Products
  • Consumer Goods
  • Medical Devices

A company registered abroad that produces in Malaysia answers the same questions; its result adds a notice that applies to it.

For products made outside Malaysia, the check does not assess readiness: it points to the route of foreign halal certification bodies, and to our guide.

Selling halal products in Malaysia from abroad

The four other schemes of the MPPHM 2020 (Pindaan 2026) — Food Premises, Slaughterhouse, Logistics Services, Contract Manufacturing / OEM — have rules of their own, which this version of the check does not cover.

Add it to ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins (chatgpt.com/plugins).
  2. Select the plus button, then “Add custom MCP server”.
  3. Enter a name, such as TAQYID Halal Readiness Check, and a short description. Under “Connection”, choose the public endpoint and enter https://mcp.taqyid.cloud/mcp.
  4. Set no authentication: the check needs no account. Read the warning, then select “I understand and want to continue”.
  5. Select “Create as a plugin”.
  6. Start a new conversation, type @, select TAQYID Halal Readiness Check, then ask your question.

Your account or workspace settings may not allow custom MCP servers. On a work account, ask your administrator.

Once the check is listed in the ChatGPT plugin directory, you can add it from there by searching for its name.

Add it to Claude

  1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors (claude.ai/customize/connectors).
  2. Select “Add custom connector”.
  3. Enter a name, such as TAQYID Halal Readiness Check, and the server URL https://mcp.taqyid.cloud/mcp.
  4. If Claude asks how people sign in, choose “No sign-in”: the check needs no account.
  5. Select “Add”.
  6. In a conversation, select + in the message box, then Connectors, and turn the check on. Then ask your question.

Claude may ask for your approval before it uses one of the check’s tools.

Custom connectors work on the Free plan (one custom connector), Pro and Max. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the connector in Organization settings › Connectors, then each member connects to it from Customize › Connectors.

Once the check is listed in Claude’s Connectors directory, you can add it from Customize › Connectors › Discover by searching for its name.

The three MCP tools

The assistant picks the tool from your question. All three only read: they create, change or delete nothing.

start_readiness_checkStart halal readiness check
Opens the questionnaire in the widget, in English or Malay. Called when you ask whether your company is ready to apply for or renew its SPHM, or what to prepare for a halal audit.
score_readiness_checkScore halal readiness
Computes the result from your answers: eligibility, IHCS or HAS, readiness level, gaps with their references, and renewal filing dates. The widget calls it after your last answer.
explain_requirementExplain a halal requirement
Explains one requirement and gives its reference: for example the Halal Executive (Eksekutif Halal), the Halal Supervisor (Penyelia Halal), the Internal Halal Committee (JKHD), Halal Control Points (HCP), mock recall, the HAS review or sertu. The answer is text, without the widget.

Example prompts

Type one of these, or ask in your own words. In ChatGPT, select the check with @ first.

  • Is my food factory in Malaysia ready to apply for halal certification (SPHM)?
  • Check if my small food factory in Selangor is ready for halal certification
  • When should I submit my SPHM renewal?
  • What does a Halal Executive need to qualify?
  • We make our products in Sri Lanka. Can they be sold as halal in Malaysia?

In Malay:

  • Adakah syarikat saya bersedia untuk memohon sijil halal?

What the check does not do

  • It issues no halal certificate and makes no certification decision: that belongs to JAKIM or MAIN/JAIN.
  • It does not check whether a company or a product is halal certified.
  • It submits no application: your company files its own SPHM application.
  • It does not estimate certification fees or processing times.

TAQYID is an independent tool, not affiliated with JAKIM or any state Islamic religious authority.

Data and privacy

  • No account, no cookie. Your answers are processed in memory to compute the result and are not stored on our servers.
  • While you answer, the widget keeps your answers so far in your browser, in the local storage of its own sandbox, so that you can pick up where you left off. It erases them when it shows your result, or when you start a new check.
  • Our server records anonymous usage events, kept for one year, and uses a hash of your IP address as a rate-limiting key that expires in less than a minute.

Troubleshooting

The widget does not appear

Check that the check is turned on for this conversation: in Claude, + then Connectors; in ChatGPT, select it with @. If you added it during the conversation, start a new one. Where your app cannot show the widget, the assistant can ask you the questions in the conversation instead.

The widget shows “An error has occurred”

Select “Try again”: the widget reconnects to the conversation. If the error comes back, the widget asks you to reopen the conversation: reload the page, or open the conversation again, to restart the check.

The check stops responding after many requests

The server limits how many requests it accepts in a short time, to protect the service. Wait about ten seconds, then try again.

A report link does not open

Report links stop working after 90 days. Run the check again in ChatGPT or Claude to get a new one.
